Iam not understanding what are the side effects for thyrorich.

Problem:

My age is 24. I am having thyroid, i have used thyronorm tablet for period of 6years of 12mg. I used to have thyroid levels at normal and hairfal used to be very little. Recently doctor had suggested me to change my thyrorich tablet of 25mcg(didn't mention the reason for change). I have been using this thyrorich tablets since 45 days. Iam having serious hairfall in these 45days. I never used to have this much hairfall when I used thyronorm tablet.

I want to know why is this suden hairfall only since I start using thyrorich tablet and what may be the major difference between thyronorm and thyrorich tablets?

Can you please post your answers.

I think you might mean 12 mcg not 12 mg

As far as I am aware, Thyronorm and Thyrorich are both Levothyroxine, just different brands.

So if your doctor has increased your dose from 12mcg to 25mcg he must have had a reason. Do you have the test results based on which he increased your dose. If so, please post them with their reference ranges.

There could be a couple of things causing your problem

1) you are now on too high a dose

2) the fillers in the new tablet don't suit you and you are having a reaction to them. We don't all get on with every brand of thyroxine. You could ask to go back on your previous brand.

Thanks for replying..

Yeah during my last test, there was slight increase of my TSH levels(attached report),so the doctor increased 12mcg to 25mcg.

But the thing is, even when I use thyronorm tablet, my throid levels got increased twice or thrice but I didn't have this much hairfall.

As you said, may be the new tablet doesn't suit my body. Please find reports

There are no reports attached. If you have results you can either type them in or edit your first post and add a picture.

Hair loss can be due to other things, so you could look at this article

but if you think it is due to the increase in your dose and change of brand, then ask to go back to your original brand and instead of increasing from 12 to 25mcg, make a smaller increase by splitting the tablet and taking perhaps 18.5mcg.
