Stopping thyroxine pre RAI treatment

Good afternoon

I am going to have a six month check-up in November after having a total thyroidectomy and RAI treatment for cancer.

I would like to know if I need to stop taking thyroxine and go on a low iodine diet before my next scan and possible further treatment.

I have found varying opinions on this.

Doesn't the hospital give advice about this?

I wouldn’t have thought so - you have no thyroid! But as SeasideSusie says, the hospital should be advising on that.
