I wonder if my GP practice are aware of this. I have had repeated problems of getting hold of my thyroid meds when I need them. For the umpteenth time I am waiting for my Thyroxine to turn up as I have now completely run out. I had to chase it up yesterday and found that the GP hadn't signed my prescription a week after me asking for this.
Two years ago they took so long sorting things out that I ended up witth multiple organ failure.I then went into cardiac arrest and spent several days in a coma. This doesn't seemed to have changed their lax attitude.
We set up Thyroid Awareness Week in the UK a few years ago now but a lot of doctors aren't aware of this. Sorry to hear of your issues - it's disgraceful. My husband now orders his meds via the NHS medical records online and there has been no problems since then.
Lyn: I hope it is fine to pose this query but you speak of "NHS medical records online". I do not know whether NHS Scotland has this facility as yet but I will check this out in a wee while. Thanks for all your work in regard to our members.
