Hi Everyone,

I just thought I would write a little post to encourage people to take part in our Thyroid Awareness Week campaigns.

For those of you who don't know me, my name is Lyn Mynott and I am the founder of Thyroid UK. It started up as Thyroid Action Group way back in 1998 after my thyroidectomy and it has become my passion. There were times when I didn't want to be here any more but with the help of my wonderful husband, Andy, and my lovely boys, Chris and Ashley, I set up Thyroid UK so that I could campaign to make life better for people with thyroid disease as I did not want other people to go through what I went through.

Some change has happened - when I first started T3 was an absolute NO NO and now there are Guidelines for the use of T4/T3.

However, we cannot rest on our laurels. There is still so much to do and Thyroid Awareness Week is the perfect opportunity to shout out about the problems patients are having with diagnosis and treatment of thyroid disease.

Please join in with the Let's Cause a Flutter campaign, please write to your MP. Buy some Trolley Coin Keyrings and give them to your friends so that they know about us should they need us in the future. Let's push this forward so that our children and our children's children will have a better chance if they become hypothyroid or hyperthyroid!

Thank you for listening. ♥ ♥

Should we put up some Thyroiduk Posters up in our local supermarkets - if we ask their permission?

By the way the Survey is great.

Definitely! Thanks - the survey took a lot out of us in terms of time and stress but we got there in the end! :-)

So instead of having an easy week, you are launching Thyroid Awareness Week.
