Sweating

In recent months I have been suffering with being hot and sweating a lot. I’m not menopausal but may as well be. Just wondered if others have this as a side effect because I’m really fed up with it and waiting to see a consultant as I have moved. Keeping fingers crossed they are better than my last two. Need to be ready when I do get an appointment. Thanks

For full Thyroid evaluation you need TSH, FT4, FT3 plus TPO and TG thyroid antibodies and also very important to test vitamin D, folate, ferritin and B12

Low vitamin levels can be cause of sweating. Low B12 can cause night sweats

Private tests are available. Thousands on here forced to do this as NHS often refuses to test FT3 or antibodies or vitamins

All thyroid tests should ideally be done as early as possible in morning and fasting. When on Levothyroxine, take last dose 24 hours prior to test, and take next dose straight after test. This gives highest TSH, lowest FT4 and most consistent results. (Patient to patient tip, GP will be unaware)

It would be very valuable to know your FT-3 FT-4 TSH RT-3 and your Nutrient values . Personally I found that when my FT-4 went high-ish I experienced more sweating aches and pain and insomnia . Knowing your thyroid values would have the clues to your symptoms .
