Had to have my thyroid tested again, as my thyroid levels had raised, and I had started getting very constipated, and started getting really bad flushing in my legs, the doctor has now reduced my Levothyroxine from 75 to 50 mg , which is great for the constipation, but not for the flushing , he also said that I have a white cell infection, which I didn’t know about as it seems to have been there for a little while, I am having my thyroid tested again in 2wks and have to see my doctor for the results, is there anyone else that has had similar effects, as the flushing is driving me crazy??

Flushing
When you say your 'thyroid levels' had increased, what exactly do you mean? FT4? FT3? TSH? It's hypo that causes symptoms like constipation, so I'm surprised your doctor decreased your levo. Do you have the exact numbers? Results and ranges?
Sounds like one of those interfering doctors who is confused about interpretation of the TSH test. Constipation is definitely not caused by high thyroid levels and flushing in legs, whilst I am not exactly sure what you mean by it, does not sound like too much hormone.
An infection can play havoc with thyroid levels and test results. It’s very difficult to adjust during an active infection and test results are likely to give misleading pointers. Where possible (and you’ve posted no results, so who knows in your case?) I feel it’s best to make no changes in dose but to get rid of the infection first. However it sounds as if you feel reduction in dose has helped?
Constipation is a very common symptom of undertreatment and a very rare symptom of overtreatment. Not sure what you mean by flushing in your legs - might that be something caused by the infection?
If the doctor said you "have a white cell infection" that means you must have an infection - presumably in your legs. But why didn't he give you antibiotics???
Do your legs feel hot and are they swollen? It sounds like cellulitis to me (an infection in the skin of your legs). Is it worse in one leg than the other? Do you have varicose veins as well?

White cells increase in the blood if you have an infection, so that must be what the doctor meant
Hi Wendy, it’s odd isn’t it? I switched from synthetic to NDT.
I started a flush on the insides of my legs near my knees. Went to a rheumatologist and dermatologist. Blood work was all good. My concern is that there is a flush that comes out in people that have neuroendocrine carcinoid cancer, of which i had a very tiny 2mm one removed. Not sure if you have gastro/GI issues. If so, they are closely related to flushing. Not sure if i am permitted to post this... for excellent info regarding NETs carcinoid cancer go to carcinoid.org.
