Flushing

I’ve increased by only 1/4 grain & seem to be flushing a fair bit & terrible insomnia too. I remember flushing before & thought it was the good old menopause but it stopped for ages. Anyone else find this with increase? Thanks

Yes I had this last night so I’ve reduced my dose of NDT

Hi Jody thanks for reply, how many grains are you on? I’ve only gone up to 2 1/4 grains few days.

I had a blip with naturethroid and I think it took its toll (put 10lb on and had insomnia and just shattered all the time moved from 3 to 41/4 grains swapped to TR. man from Thailand and I can only assume it took a while to build up but then I overshot my sweet spot? Who knows. It could be that we’ve had spring like weather too and I’ve had a really nasty cold and haven’t exercised so T3 has built up?? Theorising here.

I know it’s all so confusing. I don’t think my cortisol is the best so going to see what Dr thinks, loads of stress just now. I was thinking of trying TR Man because I’m lactose free & the other Thai one has lactose, I’m needing some soon anyway.

I felt fine yesterday on my reduced dose but it’s backfired today as I’m bunged up again , bloated, tired, fed up oh well off to see my Endo later who is bossy and belittling so I wondered whether it was wise to mention my self medication? 😀

Hope you feel better today? How did it go with the Endo, did you mention you self medicate? My Dr knew because I just told him I was going to start NDT because he was giving Levo & thought no problem with thyroid.

Hi there. I actually had to go back up to 4 grains as I got “pulled out of sleep” at 2am so felt so zonked yesterday. My Endo was absolutely fine. I just explained I had to take matters into my own hands as I didn’t expect to just get him on the phone. He understood and said he trusts me which I was so surprised at. Last night I slept right through so I’ll stick with this dose and just put the hot flashes down to the cold I had.

That’s good the Endo was understanding, makes a difference. Sounds like maybe 4 grains is better. Some nights can be awake hrs it’s annoying but others sleep through. Still flushing here but it’s a lot milder.

Insomnia and flushing can obviously be the menopause too. I have the ladymagnet and that’s working for me

Yes I’m going through that too but the flushing is only on extra NDT because didn’t have it on 2 grains for months. Tried hrts & bio identical cream, started the monthly or reacted to bio. Had the magnet but lost it 😂 lol no idea where. I’ve got the suppository thing I’m planning to try been in drawer for months.

I’d try another magnet. It’s more natural and does the trick
