Hi i went to the doctor yesterday after my bloods came back after talking to the doctor about how tired i was and struggling with hot flushes the results showed i was been overmedicated still and reduced my levo from 125mcg to 75mcg im also post menopausal he checked my pulse rate and said it was lower than normal and has referred me to cardiologist im very unerved by this. Two questions does anyone know how reducing levo will affect me ? And anyone had problems with low pulse rate
Levo reduction: Hi i went to the doctor yesterday... - Thyroid UK
Levo reduction
Dropping your dose by 50 mcg is too much. Do post your results that show you were over-medicated ? Was the FT3 over range ?

The link above takes you to your last post 7 months ago. Did you manage to carry out the advice given ... With those results it is hard to imagine you are now over-medicated...
I dont have the results im afraid im sure the doctor knows what he's doing though hopefully
"I'm sure the doctor knows what he's doing "
The majority of doctors don't know what they are doing when it comes to interpreting results and dosing !
As Marz has said a drop from 125 to 75 is to much in one go.
I know this is my usual worry that it was a huge drop but im having extreme tiredness weakness and palpitations confused and slow thinking so i am hoping this reduction helps if not ill be straight back what will happen with such a reduction
You need to get a copy of your latest results, your symptoms are looking more undermedicated than overmedicated but we won't know without seeing the numbers.
Did you have another re-read of your earlier post/thread that I posted for you above. With results that were posted your FT4 and FT3 were VERY low in range - so what has changed ? It is possible you still have LOW T3 and that is why you have a low pulse. The thyroid is very involved in the workings of the heart. Another case of the NHS spending NHS money referring patients on - when treating the thyroid correctly would save a whole load of dosh.
I am guessing - but your Doc is probably saying you are overdosed because your TSH is low - which is absolute nonsense in most cases. The TSH is not important once you are on Levo - but the FT4 and FT3 results are.
Don’t let your gp adjust your dose by tsh. And don’t trust gp to do the right thing either - not with thyroid, sorry, they are mainly useless at it, terrified of being liable through overtreating us, so their answer to every scenario is ‘reduce’. Then they suggest treating the symptoms that arise from the lower dose individually, whereas they all disappear with dose increase. Infuriating. I have the Tshirt !

Doesn’t he want to knock you out? As other said, don’t agree to 1) dose based on TSH 2) such drastic drop in medication
Too much of a reduction in medication your poor poor body change doctors now
