Discovered a wonderful article in the May 2016 edition of the magazine First for Women on the newsstands here in the US. The article was based on research by Dr. Antonio Bianco, and adds to the mountain of evidence continuing to accumulate as to why there is such a disengagement and conflict between mainstream clinicians and Hypothyroid patients. From the article (which discussed how bile / the lack thereof can affect the thyroid; the lemon-water "cure" for increased bile production, weight loss, energy production, etc.) I found more research from Dr. Bianco: jeffreydachmd.com/2016/10/a... This online article on T-4 (alone) thyroid replacement therapy, again, adds to what most of us have been screaming towards deaf ears (of mainstream clinicians, including endocrinologists) for decades.
More definitive research by this same Dr. Bianco: ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articl...
It is still an uphill battle at best, but perhaps armed with this kind of research (acknowledging that this 3 to 4 years old and duplicates of many other research papers) we can at least be settled in our own minds that we really are on the right (T-3 / T-4 combination thyroid replacement therapy) path, and WHY.
