Without ranges it is difficult to tell. Your TSH is high. What dose are you on ?

TsH 13.1 range( 0.7. 2.4)

T4 13.1. Range( (10. 24)

I was prescribed 50 levothyroxine Last month I found little improvement in my energy and a bit less tired,

You need a dose increase to 75mcg. Then re-test every six weeks or so - increasing dose until you feel well and TSH is around 1.

Test for anti-bodies too to rule out Hashimotos - TPO & Tg.

B12 - Folate - Ferritin - VitD also must be tested and treated if low ...

Thanks marks

I am feeling some skin itching after starting Levo, is it common?

Marz profile image
Marz in reply tot4only

Yes - usually due to ingredients - have a read ! Itchy skin can be due to Low B12. What is your level ?

Which Levo are you taking ?

B12 241 Normal

Folate normal

RBC high: 5.13 ( 3 to. 4.7)

High triglyceride and high cholesterol

Nothing normal about your B12 result - in range it might be but it is WHERE you are in the range that is important and it needs to be over 500. Folate result with range please 😊 Also FERRITIN - you may have anaemia. VitD - result ?

Do you have gut issues ? Are you taking any other meds ? Diet ?

Please do NOT take Statins - 😴

The itching could be because of fillers used in them. If it carries on switch brands. Teva levothyroxine is the only one that is lactose free.

When you are adequately medicated and TSH around 1 if you still are suffering symptoms then get your T3 tested. Many do not convert T4 to T3 adequately. Hopefully though you’ll be one of the lucky ones.

We really need actual levels. Normal doesn't convey much and usually we need optimal results to feel well. B12 readings have very low ranges and reading really need to be around 500 as lower can cause neurological symptoms. Better to aim for a figure above that.

Your high cholesterol will almost certainly resolve once your thyroid is adequately treated.
