Hi, would a GP be able to offer me a 24hr salvia cortisol test? Everyone agrees that with my short synacthen test, there wasn't much of a spike of cortisol levels, but they also say it's not a good indication, because it's not a brilliant test..so why aren't they doing anything to look at it more!? It would help give answers as to why I feel like I do!
Does anyone know where I can buy a test online, or if you even can..since it's over 24hrs.
Sorry for all the posts lately..this is taking longer than it should to get sorted!

Genova Diagnositics send results to ThyroidUK who act as your "practioner" as Genova don't deal direct with the public, then ThyroidUK send the results on to you
Hi, thanks...do these tests involve both cortisol and DHEA or do you have to pay for separate tests? Are they both good companies, or is one better than the other? I'll then email them..thanks
Just to let you know I took this test and DHEA was flat line and cortisol was low my GP then did a am blood cortisol test which he said was fine so was all pointless really? GP didn't even know what DHEA was!
I guess i can see that there wasn't a spike in my cortisol levels when I had the short synethen test...so maybe I should just try and sort my adrenals out without the help of my GP..
On another note, my mother just said what if im going through an early menopause because of my hot flushes...I'm 26 :S I'm pretty sure it's my thyroid doing that..but now it's in my back of my head. Hmm.
One of my symptoms of being hypo is hot flushes, I'm never cold! Ian going through the menopause though at 45 but I think being hypo messes up the sex hormones everything just goes out of whack
