The only test there of thyroid relevance is TSH. But just testing TSH is completely inadequate. Though result higher than one on Levothyroxine suggests you may be under medicated
For full Thyroid evaluation you need TSH, FT4, TT4, FT3 plus TPO and TG thyroid antibodies and also very important to test vitamin D, folate, ferritin and B12
Private tests are available. Thousands on here forced to do this as NHS often refuses to test FT3 or antibodies

Medichecks Thyroid plus ultra vitamin or Blue Horizon Thyroid plus eleven are the most popular choice. DIY finger prick test or option to pay extra for private blood draw. Both companies often have money off offers.
All thyroid tests should ideally be done as early as possible in morning and fasting. When on Levothyroxine, don't take in the 24 hours prior to test, (and if on T3 don't take in 12 hours prior to test), delay and take Levo (and T3) straight after. This gives highest TSH, lowest FT4 and most consistent results. (Patient to patient tip, GP will be unaware)
Had blood fasting done today God knows what there testing for nurse who took my blood didn't have a clue she just said am here to take blood so will have to wait till Friday
The person taking the blood - presumably at your surgery or hospital - will know what it's for. Depending on their system it will be on the computer or the blood request form, and they have to know so that they use the appropriate colour topped tubes and the correct number of tubes for the tests they're doing. Also, they have to have your informed consent to do the tests so you should be told or know beforehand.
