I’m planning to trying Cytoplan’s wholefood vitamin c and want to know what dosage I should use? The info says each capsule has 200mg of vitamin c?

Vit c supplementing dose?
Hi, I've read the rule of thumb with vitamin C is to take it 'to bowel tolerance', meaning if it gives you the runs then drop your dose accordingly. I've been taking 3000mg in 3 x 1000mg over the day and this is to help with my adrenal function. I have Hashi's but am not on thyroid medication (yet).

Vitamin C: The adrenal gland (specifically the cortex and medulla) contains a very high concentration of Vitamin C compared to all other organs. Vitamin C is required for catecholamine biosynthesis and adrenal steroidgenesis.[13] Vitamin C is released from the adrenals in response to ACTH, so every stressor the body faces causes the adrenals to lose Vitamin C.[14] Thus, Vitamin C intake is very important for the hypoadrenalism patient. Vitamin C infusion treatments have been shown to increase cortisol production[15], however oral Vitamin C is also likely to be effective. Vitamin C doses up to 2,000 – 4,000mg have been shown to be safe and have little adverse effects for the general population[16], so this is a good general guide to work from with the hypoadrenalism patient.
Thanks Hashi-hacker this info was really helpful! The link let me on a path to linking low blood sugar episodes with adrenals and that is really pertainent as I’ve an appointment to see the gp about this problem this week! However I’ve already got some good pointers for tackling it! Thank muchly!
Hi Hashi-hacker , can I ask you what brand of vit c you are using?
Hi, sorry for late reply, I just use the cheap as chips Bulk Powders Vit C 1000mg (ascorbic acid), as I go through so much of it, bought from a popular online retailer. I did have a mega expensive liquid one (liposomal) for a short while as that has in theory better uptake but it was simply too much money. Although I do rattle a bit because I supplement Vit C, D, K2, Magnesium, Selenium, Calcium and a B stress complex, I also aim to get my nutrients from eggs, leafy greens, liver etc etc as part of a gf df diet.
