Hashimotos and using birth control pills

Does anybody have Hashimotos and take a progesterone only hormone pill to control bad periods?

My doctor has suggested I try a progesterone only one but I am sceptical as I know female hormone pills don’t interact well with Hashimotos patients, has anybody used any?
