T3 blood test

Hi

I am seeing a private paid doctor regarding issues with my thyroid.

I need regular monitoring of my T3 level and as you all know this isn't cheap.

My GP refuses to give me T3 blood tests as they don't test it, I was wondering if anyone was able to get this test for free somewhere?

Or if there's anything I can do to make my GP listen?

Exceedingly unlikely - even when a Gp asks the lab refuses. Why test FT3 if they don't prescribe T3... everyone gets what they need from Levothyroxin, don't they? ( well some of us don't).

A very large number of us don't if this forum is anything to go by. Why is nobody looking into this i ask myself ................... Because no one but the sufferer has a vested interest.

If you are prescribed T3 they should test T3, but even then the labs often refuse
