Chalk and cheese

Today I had my second appointment with an Endo, my first appointment went extremely well, he listened, questioned and discussed everything, today I saw a different Endo and he was the complete opposite. Why such a different opinion, just a lecture given on how expensive it is and how statistics show there is no evidence T3 helps.

In short, I already self medicate with Nature throid because Levo alone wasn't making me feel good. The last visit was a promise of T3 through the NHS, today was not a cat in hells chance, the responsibility has been passed on to my dr, so it won't happen.

I shall carry on my own merry way !

Perhaps you first endo has also been encouraged /made to tow the line too re T3 and cost now! Thankful you had already taken the initiative to add your own T3 as NDT, and DIY.

It's a shame if he has but a strong possibility I guess.

The second endocrinologist is telling lies. Many on this forum only recovered on T3 alone or T3 added to T4.

You will not recover if you consult with the last endo. The expense of T3 is not down to the patients but to the pharmaceutical companies who took advantage that more patients were requesting it so the Endocrinology Authorities should have taken up the cost with the suppliers not withdraw it from patients who recover.

NDT (natural dessicated thyroid hormones). We used to get this prescribed too but that has been withdrawn - this time by False Statements made by the BTA about it, despite it being in use since 1892 in different forms.

One of our Advisers wrote the following and despite three yearly reminders before his death neither had the courtesy to respond.

I suppose they had to make excuses as to the withdrawal of NDT which was prescribed for years and years.

Thank you for this information, so annoying and frustrating how the drs seem to shut off and refuse to see the evidence right in front of them. However I did see one dr in our surgery, a year or so ago who did acknowledge NDT was prescribed in past years and did agree they did well on it but then told me her hands were tied, she did not have authority to prescribe 'black drugs' apparently they are listed under colours and black needs authorisation from some medical council (pharmaceuticals?)she had to write to this body and that was the end of that, she more or less said it wouldn't go anywhere.

I have no faith in this Endo, no faith in my doctor either. The Endo asked me to lower my dose to 2 grains from 2 and half, he said because I choose to self medicate with T3 which he doesn't agree with, I have to take responsibility for my self, he is willing to monitor me but cannot take responsibility. Amazingly, my surgery didn't even do the correct blood tests prior to my appointment with the endo, luckily I had with me my own private tests, the endo even criticised these!

It seems they are pretty well brainwashed in my opinion, and probably scared to stray from their standard procedure.

Can you get another appointment with the 1st Endo again? It seems unfair he said yes and this one says no, ?

I believe the first one may have been covering for the second one, so this is the one I should have seen at my first appointment.
