Can anyone suggest a coffee substitute that can be drunk at the same time as taking T3. Thanks

Advice is to take thyroid meds with a glass of water, and water only one hour each side.

Hi Seaside Suzie. I knew about coffee but l was hoping that l could have something else. I am finding it difficult to plan out when to take the T3 on a regular basis and fit it around eating, drinking, taking vits especially D3 and just going out. My life doesn’t have a regular routine but l have read on here how important taking T3 consistantly is.

I would find it much easier to take it as one dose instead of splitting it. I don’t know how people manage when they take several doses a day. Yvonne

Then take it in one dose. See how it goes. I take 68.75 mcg T3 and 25 mcg levo and take it all in one go in the morning. That's what suits me best. But, you could take it any time that suits you, as long as you respect the waiting times or your coffee. :)

I take my T3 in one dose, before I get up in the morning. I started off splitting it, got fed up of trying to fit the second dose around a coffee and biscuit in the afternoon so started taking it all at once first thing. For me, I felt no difference although I do understand some people do need to split their dose.

Thanks both of you for that suggestion.

As l take my Levo at night could l take the T3 at the same time without it having a negative effect ? Yvonne

You could try it. Some people find it OK to take T3 at night, others don't.

Ok l will try both ways and see if l feel any different.

Can l ask you about fruit teas, do they affect absorption?

I've not looked into what they contain so I don't know. But if the advice is for water only, then water only one hour each side, I personally stick to that so I know nothing will affect absorption.

I will just have to wait for the coffee then 😕

Warm water.

It does really “hit the spot” though does it but thanks for the suggestion.
