I asked the same question after much research and I think there's arguments offered for either. Personally I believe sorting out the adrenals could resolve thyroid conditions. But adrenal problems could stem from the gut.... So probably best to think of the whole system and resolve that. Essentially that's resolving the immune system.

I’ve been hypo for about 12 years with no problems until last year. My father died very suddenly, my husband was very ill suddenly and then his brother killed himself - all these things totally out of the blue and around 6 months of huge emotional stress. Shortly after we buried his brother, I had a major crash and I have never recovered properly. I am, just now in June, feeling almost back to normal but maybe about 90% of before.

This had to be adrenal driven, and I’ve spent all theses long months trying to figure it out as gps can’t find anything wrong and diagnosed chronic fatigue.

I am satisfied it isn’t, and I am “chronically fatigued” due to my adrenals kicking out my thyroid function and then all the issues that go with that ( gut problems, low vit issues etc, etc).

I believe I can be fixed though - unlike the nhs! 🙂

If i could go 12 years without any issues i'd be so happy. That sounds awful, no one should have to go through that pain i'm sorry to hear that. I am sure you can recover fully again from this as well.

As I've always understood it the Thyroid fails first and then the adrenals come into play to prop you up till they are fully stretched andxdo thecadrenals are treated first and then get the thyroid sorted. No personal experience but it's often mentioned!

That's very interesting and makes sense to me. I just really hope to get a diagnosis soon so i can start treatment as i'm 90% sure i have a thyroid issue.

I'm so sorry that you had to go through so many losses in such a short time. I've learnt that you need to take some time for yourself... time to grieve and accept and go with your sadness and all other feelings that come with it... work them through. You need to make time....don't ever listen to someone tell you to, "get over it" no, you need time and I'll venture to say you'll be bacK to feeling like your old self once again.
