I just wanted to share my experience of my amazing GP. I was diagnosed hypothyroid in June 2017 (TSH 6.6 - range 0.3 - 5.5) and started on Levothyroxine 50mcg. My levels came down to 2.3 but then gradually went back up to 2.9. The first doctor I saw said that 2.9 was fine and there was no need to increase meds even though I was still feeling tired. I’ve since seen another doctor in the practice who said straight away that I needed to increase to 75mcg. Bloods came back as 2.4 (0.3-5.5) and she has today increased the Levo again to 100mcg. She said that she would keep increasing the dosage until either I feel on top of the world or levels were below 1.0. She is a real breath of fresh air and so easy to talk to.

Great GP
That’s brilliant to hear, it’s nice to hear good reports too, gives us all hope!
That’s fantastic news, make sure you see her all the time, so that another doctor within that practice doesn’t mess her good work up.
Best wishes

I took my GP a box of chocolates and biscuits a few months back, don’t know if that’s allowed, but, to hell with it.
He was going to share it with the staff.
I insisted he took them home.
I made a point of telling him how I appreciated his thyroid plan with me, (He said he looks at the whole picture and how I’m feeling)
People are quick to complain but, not quick to compliment.
How you can do that job and switch off after hours I will never know.
Best wishes

Wow! Can we all move to your neighbourhood?! Good to hear
It makes such a massive difference doesn’t it! I have nothing but praise for my gp, he has quite literally saved my life x
That’s very good to hear. It is important for us to remember there are some good ones out there. Some day I hope to find one. ☺️
Mine is good also. We are do lucky trouble is he retires next year 😬
I do tell him that he is good
