I am thinking that the dose given seems very very low? I don’t have my blood test results but will getthem next time ivam at the hospital later this month.

Low hormones
First thing is, do you have any actual blood test results?
if not will need to get hold of copies. You are legally entitled to printed copies of your blood test results
UK GP practices are supposed to offer online access for blood test results. Ring and ask if this is available and apply to do so if possible, if it is you may need enhanced access to see blood results.
In reality many GP surgeries do not have blood test results online yet
Alternatively ring receptionist and request printed copies of results. Allow couple of days and then go and pick up. They can no longer charge for printing out, rules changed after May 25th 2018)
Can you add most recent results and ranges for TSH, FT3 and FT4
Also helpful if had vitamin D, folate, ferritin and B12 tested. Add results and ranges if you have them
Low B12 is common as we get older and can cause similar symptoms
Yes 25mcg daily is a low dose, so 25mcg only twice a week is extremely low. I see one of your previous posts says you're some way over 50 years old, then 25mcg is the recommended starter dose.
25mcg twice a week is going to do absolutely nothing for you, time to see another GP who can treat you properly !
I think I need to get all the facts and then have the fight with the GP as NHS guidelines are not really right
Im not surprised - 25mcg EVERY DAY is a starte dose for a child or elderly person with heart disease. The normal starter dose for an adult is 50mcg. you can't jut top up what is already there, so too low a dose often precents the body from producing its own hormones, but doesn't provide enough to replace them, You need to go back to the GP (or see another one with more of a clue and ask for an increase). You also need oprimal B12, folate, ferritin and vit D or thyroid hormone cannot work correctly, but don't expect a GP to know that as they don't really do nutrition at uni (about an afternoon on the thyroid and a few hours on nutrition using info which is probably 20 years out of date).
Yes we have to stand our ground sadly.
Your brain fog is a symptom of hypothyroid. 25mcg twice a week is not sufficient to treat you.
I had to write down I needed to do simple tasks you normally don't forget about like: go and do shopping, make tea, switch on washing machine when I was hypothyroid as I just could not remember a simple thing. It was like onset of dementia.
