I looked at this site about three years ago and just rechecking in with it.

I think it is really interesting and would like to share it with you.....Are us Thyroider's simply Iodine deficient????

He claims the iodine patch test is worth doing. Even some ardent promoters of iodine agree it is not a useful test.

Funny how hypothyroidism increases with high iodine intake:

These results indicate that 1) the prevalence of hypothyroidism in iodine sufficient areas may be associated with the amount of iodine ingested; 2) hypothyroidism is more prevalent and marked in subjects consuming further excessive amounts of iodine; and 3) excessive intake of iodine should be considered an etiology of hypothyroidism in addition to chronic thyroiditis in these areas.

Whatever else it is, iodine is not a simple subject.
