Hi everyone, I'm new here so if this question has been asked and answered apologies!
I've been newly diagnosed with Hashimoto's and would rather treat the inflammation caused by the auto-immune disease then just concentrate on Levo for the thyroid damage. I understand that i will probably have to take Levo but am concerned that all this will do is treat the symptoms of the damaged thyroid and not actually dampen down the hashimotos from doing further damage. Hence why I am interested in Low Dose Naltrexone. If you are unfamiliar with this as a treatment you can google it and find all sorts of articles - the long and the short of it is that it is thought to be highly effective at reducing the inflammation caused by hashis, helps with insulin resistance and ups your natural endorphins which helps reduce the aches and pains....and assists in weight loss.
So I'm interested to know if any of you have had this prescribed on the NHS for Hashi's? and did you find it helped?
