I have read that whole food vit C is much better than ascorbic acid which can in fact be harmful. Are the recommended doses of whole food vit different to ascorbic acid (500mg -1g)? I would appreciate any thoughts on this topic.

Replying to myself in case this helps anyone. Got the answer from Cytoplan. Whole food vit C comes from the food in which naturally occurs, it is gentle and non-acidic. It is utilised and retained correctly by the body as it is recognised as food. Ascorbic acid is a compound and a synthetic vitamin, man made, if it is not food state or wholefood. It is usually in higher doses as it goes through body quicker. Typical dose of whole food vit C is 200mg whereas ascorbic acid is 1g.

Hi, I only recently discovered that ascorbic acid is in fact synthetic vitamin C. So following a search on Amazon for natural Vitamin C I’m not sure which to buy. The powder I’m using at the moment is running low so I want to replace it with a natural powder, has anyone used a natural powder?

Have a look at Acerola Cherry powder, I have recently bought some from Amazon, there's quite a good choice.
