I have been dealing with hypothyroidism for about 18 years, it was under control for a good three years, when I recently went under an anxiety attack, I was very much afraid of getting the symptoms, now I am ready to work and understand more about hypothyroidism. Thanks so much for accepting me, Maritza. ☺️

Having had Hashimoto’s and hypothyroidism for over 30 years it doesn’t surprise me. It is a myth that once you are on Levothyroxine it will all be plain sailing and nothing will ever change, as I was told lots of times by various GPs. It is important to inform yourself and get knowledgable about this condition, you soon will know more than GPs do. Thyroid UK have lots of info to start with and if you have problems with understanding tests etc.. this forum will help you. Good luck on your journey.

Look into the methylation process. I recently learned that I am along the 30% of all people with a genetic predisposition to week methylation process . What is help to me is to find a combination of methylated folate combined with B vitamins like B1B6B 12 its amazing what it does for anxiety I really can’t say enough .

Unlike you I had the anxiety for over 20 years and I was taking Armour Thyroid and the combination T3 T4 medicines . And the anxiety would come and go mostly stay! I’m not sure how the methylation supplements help the anxiety I just know it works and I don’t even think my doctor knew that it would help things I do because I rarely speak of it . ( it’s all in your head comes to quickly after you start talking about anxiety ). No but he was treating the folate problem if we have a problem with the methylation process - then all sorts of things go wrong. But in my reading and research I do know that folate affects the brain in many ways and the lack of folate particularly causes many problems - but in my reading and research I do know that folate affects the brain in many ways and the lack of folate particularly causes many problems even birth defects. So it is not surprising for the anxiety to go away when the folate process is corre so it is not surprising for the anxiety to go away when the methylation process is correct . What has been the most satisfying for me personally is to realize really it was a mental thing after all it was a physical thing . I could’ve laughed and cried at the same time .

There is hope it’s not a cure but it is a wonderful wonderful Band-Aid !
