I get 6 months supply of T3 at a time from the hospital where I have to see the endo in order to get it on the NHS. The hospital pharmacy never has the full 6 months supply in stock so I have to keep going back to pick up through the 6 months. I've noticed that the latest lot I've collected is in fact Morningside, and I'm sure I've never had it before. It will be interesting to see what happens. Thanks for the tip off that it may well be weaker.
Like Shelley1954 i find it stronger and prefer it.
Hi there Joesmum.........I do not like Morningside at all and have asked my pharmacist to return me to Mercury Pharma which he has noted on screen, for my next prescription.
It is interesting that you mentioned a swollen tongue as I have been biting mine and the inside of my cheeks.I've recently had a dental check and all is well there though.
However,my muscular aches are worse especially legs, shoulders and neck.
Also I am getting bloating around my middle.
I am just coming to the last week of four months on it so have given it a fair trial.
I am only on 10mcgs + 100/75 Actavis T4 and my ft3 is in range but not in top half.
I'm now taking Vit D and K2 to try to improve things.
I’m sorry you’re not doing well on it either. I have all the same symptoms as you. Especially bloating. It just doesn’t feel as strong. But then others say it’s much stronger? Seems we just cannot generalise about thyroid meds at all.
I have asked my pharmacist to supply me with Mercury Pharma T3 but I don’t think he’s very willing. He said the the components of Morningside T3 are identical to Mercury Pharma T3 so I shouldn’t have a problem. He did say that Teva T3 IS different though and said he wouldn’t be at all surprised if I didn’t get on with that one. I tried it........Terrible!
I’m really curious to know what level my FT3 is on Morningside.
So sorry to hear that you have the same symptoms......it's so frustrating.
I won't try Teva as I had to come off their T4 many years ago.
I just want to feel physically better as I have so much to do since my husband passed away.I know that I am obviously in a time of grieving and miss him so much,However, with family in other areas of the country ,I have to be able to deal with everything myself. I have to say that they do support me as best they can though.
I will report back when I get my next prescription ( last week in May) hopefully with Mercury Pharma. I do hope you find a solution for yourself too.
Thank you so much......hugs are so important aren't they.x
The strengths of these T3 meds seem to be a bit of an issue don't they? I was given Mercury Pharma in 2014 by my Endo.So I suppose I have grown used to it even though we were wishing that there was more choice.......will we ever be satisfied?
The chance to get back to MP will hopefully help to decide whether it is in fact the change of brand that has caused the upset.I had been coping quite well with everything that had to be dealt with all through the Winter and my family were telling me that I was doing well I could certainly have done without this set back.
Do let me know if you find one that works for you.....I wish you well .We have to fight so hard to achieve a sense of well being .
Just goes to show how different we all are and need to fine tune medication individually. I found Mercury pharma T3 useless and went downhill significantly but felt instantly improved on Teva which I now have on a named basis on my prescription and notes on the pharmacy database. The pharmacy got it wrong recently and gave me Morningside instead. I gave it back, insisting on Teva but had to use Morningside for a few days until the new Teva arrived as its a special order. Even in that short time, it didn't feel as effective as the Teva (although a few days later I went down with a virus so it may have been that).
Only you can tell what works best for you. I do hope you get sorted soon.
