I am posting at last my recent blood tests with a view to finding out if a trial of T3 would make any difference to the way I feel.

As I fell no better at all with it would appear no problem to complain of ( in my doctors view anyway) I am looking for advice on the possibility of somehow getting a T3 trial as one of friends has done recently and who now feels back to her old slim and energetic self. Any ideas or am I just making a fuss over nothing.

Well, it probably would. But, the question is : is it necessary. You are under-medicated, because both your Frees are too low. But you appear to be converting well. In increase in levo would also make you feel better.

Most people find they need their FT3 up the top of the range to feel well.

Thank you shall I start with an increase of 25mg?

One can only increase by 25 mcg every six weeks. More would be too much. :)

Thank you - that will bring my dose to 150mg per day for 6 weeks then review

I agree with Greygoose. First step - increase Levo. The aim of a treated hypo patient generally is for TSH to be 1 or below or wherever it needs to be for FT4 and FT3 to be in the upper part of their respective reference ranges when on Levo, if that is where you feel well.

Your conversion is good at 3.87 : 1 (good conversion takes place when ratio is 3:1 - 4:1)

Thank you both

The doctor I saw didn’t even ask what dose I was taking when I said I still felt awful. She’s the same one who two years ago before my diagnosis that all women my (her) age feel tired. She then went off to do charity work in India, where presumably there were ‘real’ problems to concern herself with. Worse luck I ended up seeing her yesterday- if you could have seen the look of bored patronising on her face when I started my questions 🤣

You must ask GP to test your vitamin D, folate, ferritin and B12 too
