Hypo and trouble sleeping

I've been getting more restless legs and am very tired of it. Early morning is the only time I get quality sleep and I'm 7 months pregnant. I'm wondering if anyone has some solutions as I desperately want to get better rest so I have more energy during the day. I feel like my stamina has gone and I'm wanting to sleep better before baby arrives in July. It takes me hours to fall asleep!

The only thing I can offer is an old wives tale. I have been assured it works but never suffering with the complaint myself I can’t give first hand experience 😄. I was told if you put a bar of soap unwrapped in the bottom of the bed it stops restless legs. I hope it works and I hope you get more suggestions.

I had tried the soap before with no luck. Thanks for your help anyway.

I sometimes have restless legs in bed that drive me mad, the only thing I found that helps is to rub magnesium oil on them.

You do tend to stick to the bed clothes but it has always worked for me to settle them down and get me back to sleep.

Magnesium is well known to make you drowsy anyway, that’s why they always recommend any supplement is taken at night.

Best of luck. 🙂

That does work as well. I was taking magnesium citrate drink at bedtime and it did help. I had a painful muscle cramp in my calf after taking it one night so I was afraid to continue it. The cramps are common during pregnancy so may have nothing to do with the magnesium. I will take calcium and D along with it and see if that helps.

Thanks for the tip.

Hi, I wasn't pregnant when I had restless legs but it always meant that I needed a raise in meds. It might be the same for you but you need your levels checked. T4 T3 and tsh. Jo xx
