Double vision and hypo?

Sudden onset of double vision 1 year ago lasted 9 days. Went to eye hospital gave me prisims. Had no double vision since. Only dry eyes take drops 3-4 hourly. Tried to get back to thyroid eye clinic but they say not bad enough to be in that clinic. Noticed eye lids change shape one eyelid almost disappeared. Still have achey eye muscles and anxiety relating to what happened. Plus menopause lethal combination to cause anxiety. My thyroid results always in normal limits. Only had antibodies done once and these were elevated at diagnosis. The eye hospital did not do any thyroid blood tests, which I think they should have done. Occasionally I also get stabbing pains in one eye. Does anyone else get this? Think because hypo an TED rare no one takes seriously

I've had double vision for years and have prisms. Long before becoming hypo. Also one eye often feels sort of tight. Never been treated (or at least I was treated when I was 9 with eye exercises which didn't really work, but not since). I sometimes remember to do the Bates or Meier Snyder exercises, but I'm still going after more than 50 years of it, so I wouldn't worry too much. Still worth asking optician about TED though.

Thanks for info. I believe with TED it burns itself out or becomes inactive after 18 months. Mine started 13 months ago. Some days my eyes feel fine but other days they feel awful. Every now and then I get sudden sharp stabbing pains which only last few seconds. However this sets my anxiety off wondering why this keeps happening also very painful. I mentioned to the consultant at the eye hospital and he said common in TED. I use drops every 3-4 hours. If anyone else gets this stabby pain please reassure me and any remedies would be appreciated thanks. The doc did say I had dry cornea.
