I was started on 10mcg t3 a couple of weeks ago. Felt the difference within a few days, less tired, bowels much better and head feels less dry. I’m due for bloods in about 4 weeks prior to my endo follow up appt. I was just wondering if other people get the initial improvement and then it drops slightly. I thought about halving the tablet and taking it in 2 lots but I already have to cut a 20mg in half . I think quartering it would mean I lose a fair bit of the tablet and as it’s so expensive I’m reluctant to do it. Any other suggestions? Thanks

I take NDT so not quite the same but I think anything that improves be it a different type of medication orcjust increasing more if the same then initially you get a boost but then if this isn't actually enough it can feel as though someone has snatched something back again. So you are in exactly the same postition as you were with Levo and need to increase slowly and then hold to see if you may want more. But give it time to do its job first and then get your bloods done.
Don't think you would lose a great deal quartering a tablet. You can always pick up the powdery bits with a wet finger and get it that way. I was recommended a Pill Mate and although not always perfect it's the best I've tried. But find out what your ideal dose is first-it may not be a problem.
Thanks for the reply and apologies for the delay in responding. I do cut the tablets with a pill cutter so may try 5mg twice a day and see if that helps. Is there a recommended gap between doses?
I've come across first thing and then between 2-3 in the afternoon but often trial and error. Try something that is convenient to you and see if that works.
