Anyone had any luck with getting rid of any oedema, and what was it you took that helped?

Oedema
Turmeric helped.
Tried that, no different, docs keep saying I need to be optimal, but I’ve been all over the ranges and oedema still here 😞

How Is your Vit D3 intake? No expert but surprisingly after a few days on 1--a-day Vit D3 IU4000 my swollen legs/feet were well on their way to 'normal'. However, the arms are not soooo lucky and once in a while, my feet are swollen for a few hours.
Feel for you!
I’ve had a couple of booster doses of vit d no change 😞
Sorry!!! I've stayed on the Vit D3 for the past 3 months. Hypothyroidism is surely a downer for sooooo many of us!
I have also took my own for about 4months on 4000 still no difference
Have you tried increasing magnesium intake in green leafy veggies and/or a supplement? or spray?BTW I use compression stockings year round for my legs

Do the stockings prevent or merely mask? Are they like full tights or only up to your knees?
Hi Netgrouchy, good questions! First which kind to wear--heavens , I wish I could do knee but I use & actually recommend full tights. I have bad varicose veins thats why never to knee, last year I tripped & hurt my knee so bad ( but no break - Thank God) and wrapping the knee was horrible trouble as I have a thick nasty bulging vein there. I had 2 bilataeral vein ligations in my 30's ( Im 50) and they're back. Its said to be in part a vitC idiffeciency issue. IA few months ago , was afraid but tried eating different foods w/C , supplement w C & Hesperidin. I noticed improvement w all three being used for my veins but Im terribly inconsistent ( a shame I know) HOWEVER its easy to use the support hose , they push up all fuid & allieviate sweling , tiredness etc. They are at first unconfirtable as its a struggle to ger on. I started in 2013 & now can wear them year round & Im not half as tired as I was.
I honestly dont think they "prevent or mask" but no doubt your poor leg veins & lymph system get held up to do their job as we go about the day. Just NEVER lay with then on as your blood pressure will be higher by default when you are flat
They are a worthwhile investment 🤗
Thank you kindly Boobette17 for a comprehensive response. I am happy for you that you've had some relief especially with the BVLs. Guess I will wait until I'm back in the UK in a few months to attempt them...
Have had a difficult lifestyle change over the past 22 months which reduced physical activity after a lifetime of being on the go. Weight piled on and knees now seem to be in an arthritic stage. Oedema seems to be my shadow!
Best wishes!

Only had it with thyroxine. With NDT I have no problem.
It’s non pitting oedema, it’s been there ever since I got pregnant, it doesn’t go up and down it’s the same all the time it’s permanent
... and your FT3 level is ?
I’ve been to from the bottom of the range right through to the top and back down again 6.5 at the mo
... sounds as if you are towards the top of the range now. Are you ? How long have you been there ? I always suffered with swollen ankles/lower legs before diagnosis and for a short time afterwards - when flying or sitting too long when eating out !
A fasting glucose test may be worth doing (to consider insulin resistance - pretty common in hypos especially if you've ever had PCOS symptoms).
Epsom Salts (Magnesium) are good. I've read that apple cider vinegar can help and it would also make sense that spices like turmeric and ginger (I have a lot of both anyway) help too.
I’ve had all the tests you can think of all come back normal, although my twin was diagnosed 6 months ago with LADA diabetes I use Epsom salts occasionally and also eat the vinegar and spices you suggest anyway 😕
If your twin has Type 1 they'll have G.A.D antibodies as well as other symptoms. Presumably the doctors have checked for those in you as well.
I started on thyroid-s, didn't seem to do much although I felt better (after a month of headaches at the beginning). I changed to Thiroyd, didn't feel any better, so went back to the thyroid-s and it was like a lightbulb. Everyone kept saying I'd lost weight although I hadn't much, but my face was slimmer, I had cheekbones! I've had to start again but I will get there.
Vitamin C reduces edema...try to eat more vitamin C rich fruits like pineapple, It's really helpful...
