The difference between thyroid antibody tests???

Does anyone know the difference between the two antibody tests?

Thyroid Peroxidase Antibodies (TPOAb)

Thyroglobulin Antibodies (TgAb)

My tpo is 90 range 0-34 (last time was 1300)

Tgab is 213 range 0 - 115

TPO Abs are present in autoimmune thyroid disease, showing in about 95% of Hashimoto's and 18% of Graves Disease cases (figures from research).

Tg Abs are also present in autoimmune thyroid disease and also tested to monitor treatment for thyroid cancer.

You can be negative for TPO but positive for TG to confirm Hashi's.

Did you know that your antibody results confirm Hashi's and that a strict gluten free diet and supplementing with selenium l-selenomethionine 200mcg daily can also help reduce the antibodies, as can keeping TSH suppressed.

Thank you! Yeah its just the first time I've had tgabs tested ! Have been gluten free for about 5 years so hoping that reduced my antibody ,I'm looking at getting some selenium to help with antibody and conversion hopefully!
