Hey everyone I’m trying to get to the bottom of numbness, tingling and odd sensations in my hands and arms. My last B12 result was 292. The range is something like 150-2000. My doc says this is fine but from what I’m reading people say it need to be over 500 to be symptom free?

Yes many of us with thyroid disease find it necessary to supplement to improve vitamin B12

B12 is best supplemented sublingually. A daily B12 sublingual lozenge (usually at 1000mcg) plus usually recommended to also supplement a good vitamin B complex to keep the other B vitamins in balance
If you are taking vitamin B complex, or any supplements containing biotin, remember to stop these 3-5 days before any blood tests, as biotin can falsely affect test results

How is your level of vitamin D and ferritin. These need testing too
A B12 result below 500 can result in neurological issues if not treated as you will see in the link posted by SlowDragon. Like Low thyroid - low B12 is very poorly understood. Learn as much as you can and teach your GP the basics. Docs should look at Clinical signs FIRST & not the blood test. This is the first point laid down in the Guidelines your GP should have read - they are probably on his desk unopened 😊
