You must have some working thyroid left otherwise you would be extremely ill by now, you cannot survive without a thyroid and no replacement meds. When you register with a new GP ask for copies of your past blood results then post them on here for advice.

You cannot survive without a thyroid or replacement thyroid medication,

please post details including latest lab tests

You must find a GP asap and get some new blood tests done, minimum needed are TSH, T4 and T3

It must have been a sub-total Thyroidectomy as I had for an overactive Thyroid gland.

As others have said you cannot live without Thyroxine, the hormone that is secreted by the Thyroid gland only but can be supplemented with medication.

You REALLY need to know if you had a total or partial thyroidectomy! If you had a total and you are still alive then you should look into the possibility that your thyroid has grown back. I don't mean like it was to begin with but you might have cells growing back around whatever was left after your operation. A radioactive iodine scan will show up any active cells still left. Please let us know your progress solving this phenomenon, I find this fascinating and I think it has potential for regrowing important organs. (some organs do grow back, e.g. you can donate a piece of your liver and (it is said) your liver will grow back it's deficiency.)

However, your more immediate problem is that you have a hypothyroid condition which will need T4 or NDT. At least ask for a starter dose (50mcg Levo) and see how you feel. I would suggest you do not go back to the medics who operated on you and then did not prescribe medication - that was criminal neglect.

The diet my doctor was eat 1200 calories a day. I did it and lost 40 pounds so it does work. At first i was not sure but my doctor told me that diet works for people with thyroid issues. I have thyroid problems so if u stick to it the diet works. Good luck to you!!
