Your FT3 is low, but so is your FT4, so it's not that causing the rT3. It's probably still the flu causing it. So, no need for you to go T3 only. But, you do need an increase in dose. Your hypothyroid symptoms are due to your FT3 being below range. Were these labs on four grains or 2? Did your reduce by 2 grains all in one go? As your rT3 was not caused by high FT4, it's doubtful that reducing it will reduce the rT3.
I reduced down a day or so before labs as I was getting racing heart after taking my NDT dose , palpitations, 'high normal' blood pressure readings and thought i was reacting to the NDT . Reducing the dose stopped these symptoms .
Yes, so am I. It wasn't helpful to reduce the dose just before having the tests, so now we don't really know what your levels were. Those symptoms could just be due to under-medication, although 4 grains is quite a high dose. But, how do you take your NDT? Do you take it on an empty stomach, at least an hour before eating or drinking, etc.?
There's nothing you can do to get rid of the flu virus. It just has to take its time.
