I've been suffering with chest pain all weekend as well as having a fluttering heart. I am wondering if a magnesium supplement could help?
If so does anyone have any experience of tablet form v oil spray?
Thanks

Muddy1980,
This could be thyroid related (e.g. too much, too little, or a reaction to the brand of thyroid hormone). I would not take magnesium or anything else until you've seen a doctor to investigate the cause.
I'm only a few months into my treatment as the first tablets (TEVA) made me really ill. They changed me to Mercury Pharma and I was fine but as they needed to increase my dose I'm now on Almus and have been doing fine for the last month but I know the dose is still too low, they were want to gradually increase it due to my bad reaction last time. I went from 75mg, down to 25 and now I'm on 50. I'm due another blood test in a couple of weeks so it will be interesting to see where Im at.
In view of the chest pain and fluttering, I would ask for the test to be brought forward.
Incidentally, for future reference, Almus is only the name on the box (usually from Boots pharmacy). The tablets inside are usually made by Actavis - you can check the info on the PIL inside, and the back of the blister pack to be sure. It's worth knowing this because Actavis are also dispensed under their own name.
