That confirms autoimmune thyroiditis aka Hashimoto's. SlowDragon gave some links to help in your previous post.
So ask GP to run coeliac blood test. If positive you will need to remain on gluten until have endoscopy to confirm. Should be within 6 weeks
If result is negative, then can go strictly gluten free straight away
Majority with Hashimoto's find it helps significantly or is essential
Thanks for this
It would explain a lot being hashimotos as I've been up and down for years both weight gain loss emotionally etc..
GP did say though that my results are fine so should feel OK with my thyroid but the GP the other day said it can take a year and we will increase my dose. .so one seemside to think one thing the other another thing!
GP also said that 85 wasn't that high for antibodies
What is classed as high?
What makes them go up and down?
Katy
Thank you
Well it's the first time they've been tested as I've been diagnosed six months now so they possibly were a lot higher previously
Thanks Slow Dragon I'm off to Caribbean tomorrow on a cruise so I will do some reading up on the plane hopefully two weeks in sun will help!x
