Chrisjaz,

Merck and Henning are different manufacturers so their Levothyroxine tablets will have different ingredients. I don't think Henning is available outside of Germany.

Everything to do with levothyroxine is confusing.

For example, Teva levothyroxine in Ireland is different to Teva levothyroxine in the UK.

Merck Eutirox is available in Spain, Italy and Portugal.

Sanofi Deutschland Henning L-Thyroxin is available in Austria, Germany and Hungary.

But never, ever assume that the same name product has the same ingredients in different countries. Maybe it does; maybe it doesn't.

I suspect "the same" only means that it has the same active ingredient.

If you are still there, you could send your prescription to a German online pharmacy and they would be able to post to you in Spain no problem. bennewitz.com/scat/scatphar...

Hi, I am on Henning Thybon, which I get through my- independent - pharmacist with NHS prescription from my GP. This is T3 and it says on the packet that it is not licensed in the UK. Pharmacist sourced it from Medifast International, Basildon, Essex. I also take Henning’s T4 which I get through my cousin in Germany who is a GP. I asked my pharmacist if he could get Henning T4 for me on NHS prescription and he explained that even if he could get it from the same supplier I would have to have a private prescription from GP. It seems to be a cost issue as the pharmacist would only get reimbursed from the NHS the amount of the generic T4 and not the slightly higher cost of a brand like Henning. He explained to me that the margin on even the generic T4 is very low and he would lose money if he got me Henning T4. He wasn’t sure if it was available and as I can get it through my cousin I didn’t pursue it. As I have found him to be very helpful and knowledgable, more than endo and GP, I do trust him to be correct on this. Hope that helps a bit.
