Hi, I was diagnosed with an under active thyroid, six months ago. I have over the last couple of months been aware of a niggling pain under my chin, almost feels like it’s in the bone, it is now so bad that it is stopping me sleeping, I am going back to my doctor but wondered whether anyone else has experienced something similar?
Thanks.

Presumably you were started on 50mcg of Levothyroxine ?
Bloods should be retested after 6-8 weeks and dose increased in 25mcg steps until TSH around one (or slightly less) and FT4 towards top of range
All thyroid tests should ideally be done as early as possible in morning and fasting and don't take Levo in the 24 hours prior to test, delay and take straight after. This gives highest TSH, lowest FT4 and most consistent results
Is this what's happened so far?
Have you had vitamin D, folate, ferritin and B12 tested?
Do you have Hashimoto's also called autoimmune thyroid disease diagnosed by high thyroid antibodies
I'd see a dentist for help and investigation before I saw a doctor if the problem was a pain in my chin.
I saw my doctor several times for help with recurring huge mouth ulcers but really got nowhere. It was my dentist who actually referred me to hospital.
