At the moment , I use thyroid -s and don't really see the need to add any direct T3 to my dose, however , having seen many posts on availability of T3 I though today I would see if I could source any , maybe to post back to the UK to put in my ammo cupboard. I am currently residing in Cambodia , at least for the next few months , so headed out to recce the situation.
I called at a smaller mom and pop pharmacy , they did not have any but seemed to recognise the name , told me I should be able to find it in a larger pharmacy. After a short moped ride to a larger pharmacy, the shop assistant seemed to recognise the name on the piece of by the paper I gave him , headed out the back and returned with a box of Cytomel 0.25 mg - not sure how many in the box as I was distracted by the $7.50 price tag . Only problem , they expired April 2018 so no good for me to me post back. I called it a day , happy to know it can be found , tomorrow will head out again to find a longer expiry.
I have a question that maybe someone who uses it could help with , what is the usual shelf life please ? I know the thyroid -s is usually three years from manufacture.
I will have to find out postage costs as well . I did post a bottle of thyroid -s from Cambodia to a friend in the UK but it was very expensive compared to Thailand 's post when I was there. Saying that , a few Cytomel boxes should weigh a bit less than a bottle of thyroid -s . Many thanks to all those who can help .

As long as the T3 has been stored well - hasn't got damp or very hot - then it should be fine past the April expiry. I've taken T3 up to a year past expiry with no problems. I think I would get a bit twitchy after that though, and be rather nervous of taking it.
Since the cost is low would you be prepared to risk it? You could try it in Cambodia before you buy more.
Thanks for the reply , good to know that if necessary the expiry could be ignored to an extent .
I will buy some to send back . Don't want to try it myself at the moment as not too bad on thyroid -s at the moment . My latest bloods are slightly over ranges though they have been on the move down and the bloods were drawn a couple of weeks after a dose increase so I think they are not a true reflection , considering I don't feel hyper.
Why not just bring some back with you when you return rather than post it?
If your thyroid levels are over range you are biochemically overmedicated whether or not you *feel* overmedicated. Leave 8-12 hours between last dose and blood draw.
Not sure on the customs aspect , clutter. With not having a prescription etc. Any ideas on that aspect.Thought if I post it to my fathers address , plausible deniability. Just some loony in Cambodia posting T3 to the elderly .
Regarding my levels , I dose twice a day and an early draw is about 18 hours after last dose .
They are only just over the range , been increasing dose of late . TSH has actually raised two weeks after the dose increase even with the higher levels , from where my T3 was mid range . I will give it a few more weeks and test again unless I have any reason to think I am becoming unwell ( actually feel getting better ) seems with me that I need at least 6 - 8 weeks to settle after a change before I can get an accurate picture of the levels - TSH I just regard as comedy that should be treated as meaningful only in the context.
Only done this test after two weeks because here in Cambodia it is so cheap and easy.
There are a few labs in Phnom Penh city, just walk in , tick the tests on the list that you want.
They take the blood there and then and you come back that afternoon for the results.
T3, T4. and TSH plus a LDL cholesterol test at the lab I go to is $ 23 dollars , think that's about £18
Pleased to say that while the cholesterol was high for the previous three dose and lab tests , 2 done in the UK , this latest one showed about 5% move down in the cholesterol , so maybe finally getting to somewhere new.
Thanks for your input clutter , always appreciated , keep up your good work , need more than ever.
