Kittybaker,

What is your FT3 result? You didn't include it in your first post.

I have been signposted here from AbFab at the antisopholipid page as I have Hughes syndrome.

Here are my results from a few months ago

TSH 0.66 ranges 0.27-4.20

T4 Total 81.9. 65- 142

Free T4 13.99 12-22

Free T3 Reverse T3* 18

10-24

Reverse T3 18.74 normal over 15

And my discussion from the APS page

I feel like I only ever come on here when times are hard and I need support.

Brief overview 4 years ago was diagnosed with aps after collapsing. Allergic to Warfarin. In xarelto and 2 years on fragmin injections. Clot physically removed. Insides are stented and an I’ve filter was fitted for two years.

A year later pe , fragmin treated.

Further diagnosis of fibromyalgia

I have severe mood swings. On Prozac but have gained two stone. Family history of thyroid but nhs and private tests has coMe back as normal

The last option is now a hysterectomy. They have told me that this is the very last option available but I cannot see a way forward.

I cannot cope with the irrational thoughts and tempers.

On b12 injection every 3 months and vitamin D every month.

Diet paleo autoimmune which I have started

Marriage in complete tatters and my life feels ruined by Hughes!

I am also a integrative Therapist and have had CBT therapy.

I just need to know if anyone has been through similar or can see something I am missing?

Kittybaker,

I read your previous post which is how I noticed you haven't included the FT3 result.

You've posted Free T3 but have put the reverse T3 result. "Free T3 Reverse T3* 18"

T3 3.18

Sorry I don’t really understand much about thyroid.

I have antiphosolipid syndrome so I was signposted here from that admin

Thank you

Kittybaker,

That's fine. I figured you might need some help with dosing and for that I needed to see thyroid levels.

Both FT4 13.99 and FT3 3.18 are low in range despite TSH being good. The T3 will be 25mcg. Buy a pillcutter and quarter the T3 into 6.25mcg doses. Take 6.25mcg with your Levothyroxine. After two weeks you can take a second T3 dose at bedtime. Hold at 12.5mcg T3 for 6-8 weeks and have a thyroid function test including FT3 before increasing further.

I am awaiting my saliva test results for DIO12?? ( I think that’s right??) my Mum Nan and great Nan have/ had thyroid problems.

I suffer from severe blood clots but my results never came back saying I was ill until it was catastrophic so it appears that my bloods are always bizarre.

I am just searching for answers as my body seems to not absorb b12( I have injections and vit d ampoules monthly)

Kittybaker,

Some DIO2 gene impairments can reduce conversion of T4 to T3 on Levothyroxine only affecting psychological wellbeing. Your FT4 is low in range so there isn't much to convert to FT3 which is also low. Raising Levothyroxine dose would improve FT4 and FT3 levels if you could persuade your doctor to do so. If not, go for the T3.
