I'm sorry for posting yet again. But I've been on ndt since March last year and starting to feel a little disheartened as I can't truely say I've ever felt brill. The only time I ever felt great was when I was reducing my levothyroxine and introducing NDT and when I think about it that was probably when I felt at my best was sleeping better losing weight had lots of energy. Is it possible to go back to doing that??? Taking both ???? Thank you

People take all sorts of combinations so if you were better on a specific combination of NDT and levo, go back to it.

It could be that the fixed ratio of T4 to T3 in NDT doesn't suit you. Have you tried adding T3 to Levo? That way you can find the best combination for you, whatever that might be.

Your results from 3 months ago show fairly low fT3 with rT3 creeping up in the range.

Your fT3/rT3 ratio was only 13.39. You probably are not going to improve it by adding T4.

Have you considered adding T3 to the NDT? I know you said you felt better while switching over and there might have been a moment where tsh or lack of rT3 allowed for better conversion. With your rT3 is creeping toward the top of the range on such a low amount of T4, you kind of get an indication of how your body feels about T4. I would add T3, but that is just me.

Free thyroxine12.6 range 12.00 - 22.00

Free T3 4.32 range 3.10 - 6.80

Reverse T3 21 range 10.00 -24.00

Reverse T3 ratio13.39 range 15.01 - 75.00

Read through your last year of posts. Did you correct your conversion issue before you started NDT or added T3?

I'm suspecting you didn't and that may be why you are struggling now. You can only check your conversion when taking only Levo so I would be tempted to go back to that and work on your conversion by supplementing if it is t working well. It can be done but it takes time. It took me 5 months and then I was able to change over to NDT with no problems. The length of time can vary on how low these nutrients have become plus remember that once you need to supplement you always will need to but it may be possible to find a maintenance dose.
