Fresh lemon.

Not sure if this is placebo effect or not, but for the last couple of days I’ve been taking my NDT early morning as usual, 07.30. Instead of just water, I’m drinking water with a freshly squeezed lemon added.

I feel as if I have slightly more energy and not getting tired so early in the evening.

If anyone else does the same and noticed a difference please comment.

Acid in the lemon helping low stomach levels and hence increasing absorption of ndt possibly?

Hi nick i used to do that years ago before being diagnosed and it always gave me a real lift in the morning but sadly i had to give that one the boot as i have a hiatul hernia and the lemon was irritating the acid reflux but great, carry on with it if it makes you have more energy.

Looking forward to seeing some great pictures from you.😊😊

That’s interesting.

To know if there was any desirable or adverse effect from a change in the way you take your Thyroxine, you would have to wait longer than 24 hours wouldn't you? up to 4 to 5 days - Maybe longer?

I think with NDT it may show a bit sooner, because it contains active T3. But I may be wrong. Could just be a coincidence.

I think it will be helping stomach acid too.

I don't know about anyone else though, but lemon water makes me have to pee lots for the rest of the day!

Sorry I don't know who posted it, but there was a study showing that Vit C increased thyroid med absorption.

Somethings definitely going on. Started walking on Saturday to get fitter and loose some weight. Did 8kms Saturday, 7 kms Sunday and 10 kms yesterday. Feel full of energy.

You can also try taking a tbsp of unfiltered apple cider vinegar before each meal (dilute with 100ml of water).

Good stomach acid helps absorb vitamin B12 from your food, and good B12 levels also helps absorb medication. Don't take the vinegar if you've not long had the lemon water though.
