Welcome to our forum,

The first thing to do is get a print-out of your blood test results from the surgery. We are entitled by Law to get them and some surgeries charge a nominal sum for paper/ink.

Never accept the word 'normal' especially if you feel anything but.

Preferably all tests for thyroid hormones should be at the very earliest, fasting (you can drink water) and if you were taking thyroid hormones you'd allow a gap of 24 hours between last dose and test.

Ask GP to test B12,Vit D, iron, ferritin and folate too.

Doctors know little other than to look at the results and pronounce 'normal' as they only look at the numbers and don't know any clinical symptoms. The patient doesn't feel normal.

If you had your blood test later in the afternoon ask GP if he will do another and ask for a Full Thyroid Function Test. I think they've been told that TSH and T4 are sufficient but it isn't if we have clinical symptoms.

Ideally, we need TSH, T4, T3, Free T4, Free T3 and thyroid antibodies. The ones GP or lab wont test you can get privately if you wish and we have two private labs who do home pin-prick tests.
