Not sure there are different treatments .I had one done 20 years ago and the worse thing was the injection of anaesthetic. A decade on ,the other eye had drops as anaesthetic.I was out of the hospital in under an hour.

I believe there us more choice now in the replacement lenses .Think I heard varifocal were available.

Of course you need to wear sunglasses for a week or more after.
