I received a phonecall from the GP today after seeing him yesterday & he suggested that he referred me to an Endocrinologist. He said he had been thinking about my case & thought that was the way forward.
Can anyone tell me what happens. How can they suppport you & do people generally feel better once under the care of an endo

Ask GP to refer you to an Endo of your choice and get the list of Thyroid friendly Endo's from Thyroid UK.
Many on here have been disappointed by Endocrinologists who are mainly diabetic specialists. They follow the standard TSH protocol and don't have a clue about thyroid care.
It really depends very much on the endo and the endo's experience what support, if any, you get. A really good endo may be worth his/her weight in gold but everyone would be better off without a useless endo.
Endos are supposedly more experienced re thyroid than GPs but I think in practice most endos are diabetes experts and really don't know that much about thyroid.
Email dionne.fulcher@thyroiduk.org and ask for the list of member recommended endos and ask your GP to refer you to one of them.
Sad but true, many here are let down by unsympathetic know it all endos who think they know everything about the thyroid but they dont. I have been very disapointed with my lack of contact and care from my endo so much i have refused to be treated by him and so i will be seeing another one instead.
However you maybe the minority and get a real good one. Good luck.take care.xx☺
