Hey,

I've just tested positive for pregnancy, I'm just 4 weeks.

Should I go to my GP ASAP and get bloods taken.

Any other information I need to know at this stage.

Yes is the straight answer. Get an urgent appointment for blood test. They may (should?) increase your Levo by 25mcg

The TSH of newly pregnant women should be in the low range 0.4 - 2.5. Levothyroxine is usually increased by 25-50mcg when pregnancy is confirmed to ensure good foetal development.

The serum TSH reference range in pregnancy is 0·4–2·5 mU/l in the first trimester and 0·4–3·0 mU/l in the second and third trimesters or should be based on the trimester-specific reference range for the population if available. These reference ranges should be achieved where possible with appropriate doses of L-T4 preconception and most importantly in the first trimester (1/++0). L-T4/L-T3 combination therapy is not recommended in pregnancy (1/+00).

I'm in the docs waiting room, when I spoke on the phone she said it's mainly in the middle of pregnancy when they are concerned.

I find my endo to be very basic in her knowledge of Hashimotos. What specific questions do I need to ask her?

You just need to know that your TSH is low as I posted and FT4 around halfway through range or higher.

Go to gp as soon as possible. In the first 12 weeks the foetus gets all thyroid hormones from mother. Congratulations on your positive. Fantastic news.

I’m trying to get pregnant. I had a miscarriage in April. I’m convinced if I’d increased my meds it wouldn’t of happened. X

I've been to GP and thankfully bloods all good and I'm feeling good.

My Tsh was in the low range and also t4 was high, once I achieved that we ttc straight away.

Fingers crossed all goes OK for you. What are your results at the moment? Are you with an endocrinologist?
