I have suffered for years with what seem to be thyroid symptoms. Finally my gynaecologist tested me. She said that all thyroid test are normal but my prolactin was abnormal. Can anyone explain my results to me.

I know that hi prolactin can indicate thyroid problems. But Dr is saying seen as all thyroid tests are normal, it's not a problem.

I feel like I am going Insane.. they are sending me to see a neurologist....

Ah, OK! You posted a new thread! I thought you meant you'd up-dated your first thread. lol

So, your results are all euthyroid, except for the TSH and the prolactin, which are on the high side. So, it's good they're sending you for an MRI, to see if there is a pituitary problem. :)

Jena-Sam,

TSH >2.0 indicates thyroid is beginning to struggle but NHS does not diagnose hypothyroidism until TSH is >5.26 or FT4 is <12.0. Thyroid antibodies are negative for autoimmune thyroiditis (Hashimoto's).

Not what you're looking for?
