Hi all. Just wondering if anyone knows a practioner who helps with thyroid and adrenal problems. I have hashimotos disease (10 years) and low adrenals, text via a saliva test. I am desperate to be feeling better any help is gratefully received. I live in Oxfordshire but can travel if needed

For USE,,.READ YES !

I saw him...and he got me to take Adrenavive 11....that has been the lifesaver....calmed me and enabled me to tolerate rises in NDT that all my life I could not tolerate....he will definitely help you.

Hello...that’s ok..

Well, it’s quite a journey of discovery...

Dr P launched me off into taking Adrenavive...quite clearly it was what I needed..and exhausted adrenals the reason I couldn’t get well even with NDT.

I struggled at the start...and soon got advice from the company which sells Adrenavive. This advice worked well......it will save you from adverse symptoms.

However..how you start depends on what you are taking...

Are you on NDT ....or thyroxine ?

Dr P had me drop back my NDT just for a week or two I think..

Went down to one grain...while I started on the cortex.

However..strNgely, once you are on it you don’t have to do that again...for example,if I’ve gone off Adrenavive and then I start it again I don’t drop the thyroid dose off..I don’t understand this !

Start with one half capsule with breakfast..and the next day take half a capsule early away from breakfast.

Next day take one capsule with breakfast..next day one capsule early awAy from breakfast....

Keep that for a week or so..then repeat that with an extra half with breakfast..then without...and after you’ve been on two for a few days you can review.

I’m very sensitive to everything....but this method worked for me .

Finally but most importantly...I was pointed to the method of Dr Rind in the USA, for determining when to raise the Cortex dose and when to raise the thyroid dose...

It’s a brilliant method and I’ve been using it for some months....

I’d urge you to follow suit..as there is othe4wise no easy way to know what to do and when.

Just google up Dr Rinds temperature chart...there are a number of pages all about it..print them all off ..print off chart...get a thermometer...I’ve found a good one from Amazon...I could send you a link..

Do it religiously....I’m sure you’ll find it helpful..

So do the chart for one week..that will show you wheee you are..

If temps are unstable...that is different every day by more than point two or three...You neeed Adrenal....and more while that continues. When temps are stable...you have enough cortex and only need more thyroid...if temps are still low.

Hope all this helps...

All the very best ...

Jollypolly .

What are your most recent Thyroid TSH, FT4 and FT3 test results, plus vitamin D, folate, ferritin and B12 results

Extremely common to be under medicated and/or have low vitamin levels with Hashimoto's

As you have Hashimoto's are you on strictly gluten free diet?

Well it's essential to get vitamins to good levels

Thyroid hormones can not work if any of these four vitamins are too low

How much vitamin D were you prescribed and have you been retested since

TSH - really 342?

What was the range

For full evaluation you ideally need TSH, FT4, FT3, TT4, TPO and TG antibodies, plus vitamin D, folate, ferritin and B12 tested

See if you can get full thyroid and vitamin testing from GP. Unlikely to get FT3

Private tests are available

thyroiduk.org.uk/tuk/testin...

Medichecks Thyroid plus ultra vitamin or Blue Horizon Thyroid plus eleven are the most popular choice. DIY finger prick test or option to pay extra for private blood draw. Both companies often have money off offers.

All thyroid tests should be done as early as possible in morning and fasting and don't take Levo in the 24 hours prior to test, delay and take straight after. This gives highest TSH, lowest FT4 and most consistent results

I have heard some doctors prescribe cortiol if needed or maybe some herbal things may help.
