I note you joined the forum in August '17 but there's no information about your thyroid history, i.e. what were you diagnosed with, medication prescribed etc. etc.

Some private Endocrinologists will prescribe but UK T3 is very expensive. You could ask your local pharmacist what it would cost if you had a private prescription.

It would also be beneficial if you were able to post your most recent blood test results, with the ranges, and members could advise. Some improve, if on levothyroxine alone, by adding some T3 to it.

Ideally, we should have TSH, T4, T3, Free T4, Free T3 and thyroid antibodies checked, plus B12, Vit D, iron, ferritin and folate. The ones GP wont do you can have privately.

For full evaluation you ideally need TSH, FT4, FT3, TT4, TPO and TG antibodies, plus vitamin D, folate, ferritin and B12 tested

See if you can get full thyroid and vitamin testing from GP. Unlikely to get FT3

Private tests are available

Medichecks Thyroid plus ultra vitamin or Blue Horizon Thyroid plus eleven are the most popular choice. DIY finger prick test or option to pay extra for private blood draw. Both companies often have money off offers.

All thyroid tests should be done as early as possible in morning and fasting and don't take Levo in the 24 hours prior to test, delay and take straight after. This gives highest TSH, lowest FT4 and most consistent results

Before considering adding T3 you need to ensure vitamins are at very good levels, if you have Hashimoto's then likely to need to be strictly gluten free. Dose of Levothyroxine high enough to bring TSH down to around one and FT4 towards top of range and FT3 at least half way in range.

Email Thyroid UK for list of recommended thyroid specialists dionne.fulcher@thyroidUK.org

Private prescription would enable access to French or German Liothyronine (T3) £30 for 100 tablets as opposed to UK at £900 approx for same number

Smc18,

Email dionne.fulcher@thyroiduk.org for a list of member recommended endocrinologists. Before confirming an appointment ring their offices to check they do prescribe Liothyronine. Not all do.

A private prescription for 28 x 20mcg UK Liothyronine (T3) will cost £258+. Use the prescription to buy Thybon 100 x 20mcg Liothyronine for €35 from versandapo.de/en/0/7498960/... or ask for a prescription for Sanofi Cynomel 25mcg which can be imported from France.
