Would like a suggestion and maybe some reassurance

Been happening for a couple of months now, my throat feels like I’ve got something around it, just tight. Not sore or in pain really. I have pain in my neck under my jaw line only on the left side quite a lot, found a couple of lumps which have disappeared but people have said about glands etc etc... I feel extremely tired all the time, I get giddy very often, especially when getting out of bed first thing in the morning. This time last year I was suffering something cruel with panic attack’s and anxiety over my health, literally would cough and think I’m dying.. so don’t know if I’m overthinking things, but the pain under my jawline and the tightness of my neck are definitely there it’s not in my head!!! Do I go to the doctor? Or is it a waste of time..?

Are you in UK?

Have you asked GP to test your thyroid? If so can you post your test results. TSH, FT4 and FT3 as well as thyroid antibodies.

Also good idea to get vitamin D, folate, ferritin and B12 tested. These can be low causing symptoms in own right or if low also affect thyroid

I have my b12 jabs and went back after 6 months and said all was fine! So that’s ruled out 😩

Sorry - what was ruled out ? Please post your test results with ranges ....

My b12 levels were fine after having the injections. I don’t have any test results! I wasn’t given any on paper or anything?

You are legally entitled to all your blood test results. Please do ask for them each time so you can follow your OWN progress as Doctors cannot be trusted to do everything correctly. You need to pick up what is missed. Also makes posting here easier.

Once you are having B12 injections further testing is of little value as the results will be skewed. If you have PA you will need B12 injections for life.

Hi there go to see your gp first and like slowdragon as said get your thyroid tested- thats how i first knew there was something not right, i too had tbe tightness around my neck, pain under my left jaw and sooo tired all the time, panic attacks, heightened anxiety, trembling, heart palps and a list of other things. I was hyperthyroid and hashimotos-all connected with the thyroid and now on meds. Good you have a appointment and dont be fobbed off by gp get them to do all the thyroid function tests- i went undiagnosed for 5 months has doctor but mine down to asthma and then a clot on the lung and then viruses!!! Good luck.😊

Ps. If it is thyroid this site is a godsend and as helped me tremendously through really rubbish times and still is supporting me and please listern to the advice of the great people on here.😊😊

I had my thyroid test this time last year and everything came back clear they said I was lacking b12. So I have the injections and I was fine every since. Feels like I’m cursed this time of year!!

Never ever trust a gp who says they are fine, usually they are not as gps dont have a clue about anything-always get a copy of your bloods, its your legal right. Marz has said get your bloods and post them on this forum and the lovely people will help you. Do not ever take fine or ok!!.x

Tightness in my throat was one of the symptoms when I was hypo . It's an awful feeling . It feels like a chocking feeling . When my T4 was raised it seamed to subside .

Wishing you wellness .

The panicky feeling could be a Hashimoto's 'flare' caused by antibodies. You need to get the tests done for a clearer picture of what's going on.
